For day to day purposes, we have to use a number of tools. Some of them are hand tools where some other are power tools. To perform many operations like cutting, joining, trimming, planning and so on, those are our day to day kits in use.
On the same note, if you have to staple anything on a plastic, wood, fabric surface, staple gun is the key you have to get on work.
People who use staple gun, loading it properly becomes quite of a hard task at the very beginning. As there is no step by step instruction provided with the manual itself, it looks like a rocket science.
In this post today, we have decided to break them all down for you. The article you are in right now contains a step-by-step guide line showcasing the steps on how to load a staple gun.
For now let’s start with some basic-
What is a staple gun?
Staple gun is a machine that is handled with hand and can be used to force metal staples into any surface like plastic, wood, paper, fabric etc. Instead of metal staples, some users would like to use small nail brads.
They are way more powerful comparing to the desk stapler, and comes with some extra benefits as well. Therefore, they are widely used in woodworking, crafting, upholstery and so on.
How to load a manual staple gun?
As you know, there are two kinds of staple gun- the manual ones and the electric ones. This is the part where we will be explaining the steps of loading a manual staple gun-
Step 1: Find the Pusher Rod
Pusher rod is a metal in the shape of a rectangle, which has two indentations along with a small hook on top of it. You can find this once you point the gun light the area from where the names come out, faces away from you. If you have a look at the back of the gun, you should see the indentation.
Remove the pusher rod by pressing it once inward and then pulling outward.
Step 2: Load the Staple Gun over the Guide Rails
Now it’s time to load the staple gun with a row of staple in hand. We hope that you have already got that by your hand. While positioning them, make sure that the legs are facing down with the staples being on the top of the rail.
However if you don’t slide the steps to the front, it can get stuck with the old staples just after you re-insert the pusher.
Step 3: Re -insert the pushers:
Now this is the last step that you have to deal with before ending of the process of loading a manual staple gun. Here, you have to position the end of the pusher that you have placed in the previous step.
You can notice a release mechanism inside the Chamber of a staple gun. Push that backward, so that it cannot interrupt you when you are placing the staples.
Once the placement is done, release the push mechanism inside the chamber.
In case of some staples, there can be a little bit tension when you are pushing it through the rod. If your staple gun is one like that, keep pushing the rod until you find the position where it is locked at hooked.
Step 1: Unplug the staple gun and lock the trigger of it
An electric staple gun is usually plugged in into the wall socket. To begin with the steps, you should unplug that first and locate the trigger lock.
Usually, trigger lock is located right behind the trigger that you push to release a staple. Shift the lock from left to right, so that the trigger is locked at its place. We can continue our next steps now.
However if your gun does not have a trigger lock, you should be quite sincere when you are loading the staples.
Step 2: figure out the magazine release button
To hold the staples in a place, there is a magazine release button which you can find at the rear part of the stapler. The direction can be towards the bottom.
Tell us help you are to identify the magazine release button even better. In the button, you should find two small indentations in both of the sides of the stapler. This invitation helps to squeeze and pull.
After you have found the release button, squeeze it and pull the tray out. For doing that, you need to place your thumb and the forefinger on both of the sides of the release button. Once it is released from the magazine of the gun, it will open up a compartment beneath the gun. This is the compartment where you are supposed to place the staples.
Step 3: Place the staples
Now, this is the most important step where you are supposed to put the staple into the compartment. As you know, the way of putting them is by keeping them upside down. The legs are supposed to face up towards you.
As you are done, slide them up towards the front of the stapler. Don’t release the gun, until you are completely done with the process.
Step 4: Make sure you are using the magazine release marks
To help you with the process of loading an electric staple gun, there are indicators in the magazine release. If you are using a staple gun to fire brad nails, you should find a text named ‘Load Brads’ right at the magazine rod.
Take a row of treadmill, and place them against the site. As you are done, slide the magazine back into the chamber and keep moving until you hear the click. The click indicates that the magazine is snapped into where it should be.
